TOKYO RULES Editorial Spreads

This design was created for entry into the Society of Publication Designers’ editorial contest. The spreads frame an article about the many sights and activities that abound in Japan’s capital. Using a palette inspired by the country’s flag and the sakura petals that drift through the springtime air, dotted lines guide the reader’s eyes throughout the article, with simple vector spot illustrations depicting the mentioned locations.
